In addition to Delta State University, there are a number of options for advanced education in the immediate area. The Vocational-Technical Center is located in Cleveland, and Mississippi Delta Community College, Coahoma Community College, are located within 45 miles. With these institutions located just minutes away, the result is a wealth of programs, from technical training to advanced degrees. For residents who do not pursue formal education after high school, a workforce training program called the Employee Certification Program (ECP) is offered to prepare potential employees for jobs in the changing and competitive areas of manufacturing technology and service industries.

Industrial training has a three-fold Mission:
• Customized Pre-employment training, which will assure a capable and well-trained workforce for new and expanding industries.
• Post-employment training for new and existing industries.
• Retraining or upgrading employees for existing industries.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT TRAINING
Customized pre-employment training is provided to applications before they are hired. This training is to prepare trainees for immediate placement in new jobs.
POST-EMPLOYMENT TRAINING
Customized on-the-job training (COJT) programs are conducted after the employees have been hired. This training provides job specific training.
RETRAINING AND UPGRADE TRAINING
Customized retraining is developed for existing company employees to meet changing skill requirements caused by new technology.

The Charles W. Capps, Jr. Technology Center, is located in Indianola, Mississippi on U.S. Highway 82 midway between Greenwood and Greenville, 8 miles west of Moorhead, the home of Mississippi Delta Community College. The Capps Center is strategically located at the geographical center of the seven counties service area of Mississippi Delta Community College.
